Modular CANopen I/O Solutions
Baldor's CANopen I/O modules allow the standard digital I/O of the NextMove range of motion controllers and MintDrive intelligent drives to be expanded. The modules operate over the CANopen, with the I/O being operated via a series of Mint commands.
The modular nature of the product provides a flexible solution for your I/O needs. I/O slices can be mixed and matched for the optimim solution.
- Fine modularity: 1, 2, 4, or 8 channels per module.
- CANopen network: System design is much simpler as the standardized profiles allow integration of the drives, HMI panels and other accessories on the same network.
- Flexible: Digital/analog inputs/outputs and special functions with different voltage and signal types can be assembled in one CANopen node.
- Dependable: Approved for industrial automation, building automation, ship building, and onshore or offshore applications. Reliable - even in harsh environmental conditions.
Configuring an I/O Block
Each module must include three basic parts: the CANopen coupler; sliced I/O and an end terminator block.
The CANopen coupler is the link between the module and the BUS network and comes in both standard and ECO options. The ECO option is designed for reduced scale I/O applications and does not have 24V power jumper contacts.
Any combination of sliced I/O can be used in conjunction with the coupler, up to the current capacity of the system. Some slices require additional 24V power supplies (see note), as they do not have power jumper contacts. The combination of slices is limitless. Digital and analogue; inputs and outputs; relays and transistors can all be combined on one coupler if the correct supply voltage is provided.
